Earlier in the year we crossed a significant milestone for our firm. A milestone that was for celebration, gratitude and forward thinking. It is a tribute to our team of exceptional professionals and the clients who have trusted us throughout two decades, allowing our business to thrive.

We turned 20!
This was also an occasion for us to recognize and celebrate all that we have accomplished together since 2004. Our vision has been steadfast since we opened our doors: to design beautiful, meaningful, and thoughtful places for people to live well, with dignity, and connect with others.
From our original headquarters on Avenue Road in Toronto, to our current state-of-the art studio on Yonge St, we have grown from 5 to 70 people, all connected by a passion to work on what they love. We expanded with the opening of our Calgary office in 2013 and in Ottawa, in 2019. Together, we have broadened the scale and typologies of our projects and expanded the reach of our voices as advocates and design thinkers.

Today we remain the largest solely woman-led architectural firm in Canada, with women leading every one of our studios. We are diverse, driven and a special place for our teams to grow and foster their careers.
We are proud of who we are and realize there is a lot to be thankful for.
Looking back at 20 years, above all else, we are incredibly grateful to have made it this far surrounded by talent, compassion, and care for our communities.
We are also deeply optimistic for everything we will do in the future.
From unique cultural and neighbourhood institutions to complex master-planned communities with mid-rise to single-family homes, and everything in between, our work is complex and meaningful.
We are a true family of professionals committed to our clients and help each other learn and grow daily. This is probably Q4A's greatest success: the feeling of belonging. We are proud to acknowledge that our human-centric approach to our work and workplace has been steadfast since day one. Our goal is, above all, to be great place for great people to do great work.
As Frances expresses it, “we maintain the humility and knowledge to understand that this is a continuous learning process...”
Of course, with turning 20, we had to have some parties! The Toronto studio celebrated on the Toronto Islands on a gorgeous summer day. This was followed by an anniversary open house in our studio, with clients, our staff and guests toasting to the past and future. We were humbled to be able to make a significant donation to Covenant House, an organization dedicated to providing shelter and housing on that evening.
